TORRE PARNASO angeoin building, that plunges into the sea, was a sight and defence tower. Still today, Joppolo and the nearby Nicotera dispute for its territorial possess. Sanctuary of the Poro: on a suggestive wooded place, it was founded by the friar Carmelo Falduti (XIV cth.). Going North, after 25 Km, you can find the little town of TROPEA which is considered the ‘Tyrrhenian Pearl’, Southbound, the ‘Violet Coast’ winds down among Bagnara, Scilla (with the superb quarter of Chianalea – with houses plunging into the sea). Towards Reggio Calabria, which seapromanade was said to be ‘ the most beautiful kilometre in Italy’ by an Italian famous poet, Gabriele D’Annunzio. Nowadays, in the National Museum the ‘Riace Bronzes’ are duly conserved, with other Greek-Roman archaeological findings.
